Enter your four section scores. The overall band is the average, rounded to the nearest half band, where .25 rounds up to the next half and .75 rounds up to the next whole band.
Overall band 6.0 (average 6.000, about CEFR B2)
You are 0.5 band below your overall target of 6.5. Every section meets the 5.5 minimum. To reach 6.5 you would need roughly 1.0 extra band points spread across the four sections. A One Skill Retake can lift a single weak section within 60 days of the original test.

IELTS fees are set against a US dollar price, so the rupee amount moves with exchange rates. The British Council page lists the price valid from 9 June 2026 and a pricing document effective 2 July 2026. Card payments in rupees can differ because the merchant settles in foreign currency.
Your British Council booking includes five extra electronic Test Report Forms to send free to institutions, and access to IELTS Ready Premium. Plan the total cost as the test fee plus travel to the centre and, if you may retake, a second fee or a One Skill Retake.
Frequently asked questions
How much is IELTS in Pakistan in 2026?
British Council Pakistan lists Rs 75,600 or Rs 76,240 for IELTS on computer from 9 June 2026, depending on the city. UKVI is Rs 72,000. Other providers have been reported a little lower. Check the booking page for the price on the day.
Which IELTS do I need for a student visa?
It depends on the country and the route. The UK uses IELTS for UKVI only for some courses and sponsors, while many degree courses accept the standard Academic test. Your offer letter or CAS conditions will say. Australia accepts several tests and expects them to be taken in person.
Is IELTS better than PTE for Pakistani students?
Neither is better in general. Choose the one your universities and visa accept, then use a practice test of each to see which format suits you. See the comparison.
How long is an IELTS result valid?
Two years from the test date. One Skill Retake results keep the original test date.
Can I take IELTS at home?
The British Council Pakistan page lists in-centre tests on computer for Academic, General Training, UKVI and Life Skills. Do not rely on any at-home option unless your institution confirms it accepts it.
